6. What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

During my time in constructing the product, I have learnt and improved on using the camera. This is clearly seen in my media product as different shots such as pans and tilts are used effectively. My positioning of the camera has been improved as we can see from various scenes such as the school scene where we position it carefully to include different characters and obstacles and use as much of the scenery as possible so it isn’t wasted. My work in front of the camera has also improved as I am the main character and had to look mysterious and shady. From the different body languages we’ve seen in different programs it helped when performing as the character as I knew what and how to perform it. My editing skills have improved due to the work done on the Macs and using iMovie. The editing we used were cuts and FX which was taught and used in the movie. Sounds and volumes had to be edited to make sure some sounds weren’t overpowering others, for example to make sure the music used wasn’t too loud and faded out in time for when the sequence started. My skills in production work have improved since the start of the course as I prepared the media sequence with a written script and storyboard which were annotated and completed to a professional standard. Examples such as the Star Wars script helped to see the professional layout of a script. However I could improve my work with the use of technology as there were some moments which created mistakes in our movie such as a stiff tripod which was seen in part of the movie and needed to be edited so it wasn’t noticed. Also errors such as opening and closing of the doors needed to be changed and edited so it wasn’t as noticeable.
